How the Date field works

In Yapla, it is possible to add a "Date" type field so that you can ask your users to enter a date of birth, a date of graduation, a graduation end date, etc.

How the Date field works

First of all, go to the form in question, click on "Create a new field" and select the "Date" type.

If you only want a basic "Date" field, enter only the name of the field and save.

However, if you want to set criteria for the date, it is possible to add a start date and an end date. This allows the user to select a date within this range. If the user selects a date outside this interval, an error message will appear.

You can also choose display the date as an age.

How do I add a dynamic date field?

In some cases, it is sometimes necessary to have in back office the possibility to add a follow-up date. For example, when registering a new member, it would be possible to have a field, visible only in administration, which would allow to have a follow-up date for this member.

First of all, you have to go to the form in question, click on "Create a new field" then select the type "Date".

Once the name of the field has been chosen, it is possible to set a default value. Here, the first choice allows you to have a date equivalent to the date the form is completed + a number of days.  In the example below, if I fill out the form on January 1st, my follow-up date will automatically be January 15th, 15 days after the date the form is completed.

Once the field is created, you just have to add it to your form in read-only mode.
