When you create a peer-to-peer (P2P) campaign, donors make donations to participants. Adding participants is a good way to increase your chances of reaching your objectives. However, this can lead to errors on the part of donors. They may go to your site and make a donation directly to your organization, rather than to your current campaign. To correct this error, you can edit the allocation of the donation. Here's how to do it.
Allocate a donation to the right participant
In the Donations feature of your Yapla account, click on Campaigns and then select your peer-to-peer campaign. Then click on the Donations received tile.
Then select the name of the donor who made a mistake when allocating their donation.
In the Donations section of the Donations received page, there is a field entitled Participant. Below it, a link appears according to the status of the donation:
- if it has been paid to the organization, the link will indicate Assign to a participant
- if it has already been assigned to a participant, the link will indicate Change participant.
Click on this link to see the complete list of participants. Then select the participant to whom you would like to allocate the donation.
Then click on the Save button at the bottom of your screen. All that's left is to notify the donor and participant of the correction!
Going further: managing participants' information
Participants in your campaigns can register by themselves on your website. However, you can edit their information if they request it afterwards. See our help article to find out how to edit your participants' information.
