A preference center is a tool that allows your subscribers to select the types of content they wish to receive from you. The preference center is beneficial for your email marketing campaigns by allowing the contact to validate their preferences. This means they can adjust the content they want to receive, which increases engagement and decreases the likelihood of unsubscribing.
Additionally, it can also help you better understand the interests and preferences of your subscribers. It also creates a personalized and relevant experience that helps strengthen relationships with subscribers and increase brand loyalty.
How to set up your subscriber preference center
Go to the Newsletter feature.
- Select the Contacts tab.
- Select your contact list.
- Click on the gear icon on the right side of the screen. This opens the Manage Lists and Attributes page.
- Click on the Interests tab to manage your subscribers' interests.
- Select + New Interest to add an interest.
- Enter the name of your interest, such as Sports, then click Save.
- Ensure that visibility is set to Public.
Private interests, on the other hand, can help create targeted campaigns for specific groups of people. However, the person receiving the campaign will not be aware of these interests and will not be able to modify their preferences based on them. The sender can still use them to make their marketing efforts more effective.
- Depending on your campaign strategies and content, you can add more areas of interest.
- Select Preview to see what your preference center looks like.
You can view the appearance in the preview and customize it by accessing the branding settings.
- 1. Click on the unsubscribe link from a campaign to test the newly added interests.
- You can also modify the text of this link to share it with your contacts and allow them to control their subscription preferences.
- The contact can toggle between these areas of interest when clicking on the link.
