Create a contact form with data

Use the Data application to create a contact form, feedback form, survey or any other type of custom form. With Data, you'll be able to use a reCAPTCHA to block unwanted messages and keep a history of requests received via these objects.

Where to set up an object with Data?

You can set up a contact form by creating an object in Data. If you don't use Data, first go and activate the Data functions in Settings -> Application and then click on the Data button.

Once you have activated Data, you can create your object by going to Data and clicking on the orange "Add Object" button. When creating the object, you will have two choices: Use a contact template or use an empty template. In this case, the Contact Template is preferable.

Creating the form

Go to the Forms tile to configure the fields that will be used in the contact form. In order to synchronize them with your Contacts, it is important to use the same technical names for the corresponding fields in Contacts and in Data. Once your fields are configured, place them in the form.

Optionally, you can also create communications related to the form. For example, communication of the New type can be used to send a confirmation of receipt to the person submitting the questionnaire or to send an alert to the administrators of your Yapla account.

Each completed form will generate an item and it is under the Items tile that you will be able to view all the received forms.

Finally, you can configure the display of the items of your objects as well as the search engine for them under the Settings -> Customize search presentation tile. The Choose search criteria section changes the search criteria while the Configure search results display section changes the table that displays in the Items section directly.

Insert the form in a web page with the Entry Form module

Go to Websites and open the page where you want to display the form. Once you have selected the area on your page, configure the area to display the Data application and the Entry Form module.

Once you have completed these initial configurations, go a little further down the form to find the Forms Used and Anti-Spam Protection sections. You will then be able to assign the object you just created and choose to activate your reCAPTCHA.

The same procedure can be used to create any type of form, on public or private pages or on pages that are not displayed in the menu but that you can send directly to the individuals concerned, for example via automatic communications or a newsletter.
