[Modules](https://support.yapla.com/en-ca/create-my-website?hsLang=en-ca#modules) # My groups module: create a group space and a forum ## Create a page reserved for a group with a forum, events, news, documents and a member list. **Available with the Plus plan and higher.** The **My groups** module creates a collaboration page on your website reserved for the members of one or more groups. Depending on the tabs you enable, members find the group description, a discussion board, the group's events and news, shared documents and the list of members. Use it, for example, to create a space for your board of directors, a committee, your volunteers or the participants of a program. It is also the module to use to offer a discussion forum to your members: the forum is a tab of this page, not a function of the Member Area. Without them, the module displays an error message. ### Add the module to a page 1. In the Website feature, [create a page](https://support.yapla.com/en-ca/create-a-web-page-with-yapla-and-integrate-it-into-your-website?hsLang=en-ca), for example *My groups*. 2. In the page's **Configuration** tab, reserve it for logged-in users. Click the main zone, select the **Contacts** feature, then the **My groups** module. 4. Configure the tabs as described below, then click **Save and close**. ### Configure the tabs Each tab is enabled with its own checkbox. For each enabled tab, select under **Displayed groups** the groups for which the tab is displayed. Drag the tabs to change their display order. #### Group description Check **Activate group description** to display the group's presentation. The description is written in the configuration of the [custom group](https://support.yapla.com/en-ca/create-custom-groups?hsLang=en-ca). This tab is only available for custom groups. #### Discussion board Check **Enable the discussion board**, then choose the functions offered to members: - **Show search filter** - **Allow comments** - **Allow to attach documents** - **Allow change of status** - **Allow recommend** - **Allow message tracking** Two automatic communications of the Members feature notify members of forum activity: **New forum message** and **New forum comment**. #### Events Check **Enable events** to display the group's upcoming events, such as its meetings. Enter the **Number of events to show**. For an event to appear in the tab, associate it with the group in the event's categorization section. Clicking the event starts the usual registration process, including communications. Check **Enable preregistrations management** to preregister the group's members for a free event. Preregistered members see the event in the tab. #### News Check **Enable news** to publish news reserved for the group. Articles associated with the group in their configuration are displayed in the tab. See [Create articles for your website](https://support.yapla.com/en-ca/create-articles-for-your-website?hsLang=en-ca). - **Image to display for the news:** field of the member file used as the image, for example **Photo**. - **Fields into list:** click **Add** to choose the information displayed for each article. Group members can also add articles, which are associated with the group. To remove or unpublish an article, use the **Articles** tab of the Website feature. #### Documents Check **Activate documents** to share documents with the group. Under **Fields into list**, click **Add** to choose the information displayed for each document. Documents are managed in the media library, under the settings menu: you can add, delete and associate documents with groups there. Group members can also upload documents. #### Members list Check **Enable members list** to display the group's members. Under **Fields into list**, choose the information displayed. Check **Show member list in bloc** for a tile layout instead of a table. ### Good to know - A member only sees the groups they belong to. Check the groups associated with their file if a tab does not appear. - If you use the Events or News tabs, also associate a group or category with your public events and articles.
