The login link: an alternative to passwords

Yapla offers a login link that lets your members, donors, or participants log in to their space without having to create or remember a password.

What is the login link?

The login link is a simplified authentication method: instead of entering a password, the person receives an email with a link that logs them straight into their account. This option is especially useful for occasional users who don't visit your site often enough to remember their login details.

Where is it available?

The login link can be used:

  • On the Login modules integrated into your website.
  • In the Member area module

Enable the login link

Go to Website > [your website] > Pages and select the page containing your member area or Login module (both must be enabled separately if you want to use the login link across all modules).

Under Module Configuration > Display options, check the box Enable login link sending option.

The login form will now include the option to receive a login link.

Email received

Here is a preview of the email received containing the login link. Note that it is not possible to customize this email.

Good to know

Compatibility with Single Sign-On (SSO)

The login link is not compatible with Single Sign-On (SSO). If SSO is enabled on your account, the option to send a login link is automatically greyed out and disabled.

Security

For security reasons, the system always displays a success message, even if there is an error in the email address, in order to avoid disclosing information about your members.

Frequently asked questions

Is the password completely removed?

No, the login link is an additional option, not a mandatory replacement for the password.
