[Modules](https://support.yapla.com/en-ca/create-my-website?hsLang=en-ca#modules) # Events Section: display your events and registrations ## Present your events, allow online registration and display the list of participants. **Available with the Essentials plan and higher.** The **Events Section** module presents your events on your website and lets visitors register without leaving the site. Each event has its own detail page, with the description, location, schedule, prices and registration form. Configure the module as described below, then click **Save and close**. To present only a few events, for example on the home page, use the [Featured Events](https://support.yapla.com/en-ca/featured-events?hsLang=en-ca) module instead, which points to the page containing the Events Section. ### Choose the display mode In the **List display** section, choose the **Campaign display mode**: - **Left navigation** or **Right navigation**: the list of events is displayed in one column, and the details of the selected event in the other. - **Mosaic**: event previews are displayed in a grid. Choose the number of columns (1, 2, 3, 4 or 6) and the layout of the detail page: summary in the centre, on the left or on the right. - **Calendar on left** or **Calendar on right**: a calendar presents the events, and the details of the selected event are displayed next to it. - **Unique event**: the page presents a single event. Select the event and the layout of the detail page. This mode suits a page dedicated to a conference or a gala. The module adapts each event's image to its location. A square image from 400 × 400 to 600 × 600 px, the same for all your events, gives a consistent display. See the [recommended dimensions](https://support.yapla.com/en-ca/best-practices-for-managing-images-on-your-website#dimensions). ### Set up the registration process - **Show event info throughout the registration process**: keeps the event summary visible at each registration step. See [Set up a registration process and multi-registrations](https://support.yapla.com/en-ca/set-up-a-registration-process-and-multi-registrations?hsLang=en-ca). - **Show prices by category**: groups the event prices under their categories. The **Introductory article of the identification step** section displays a text at the step where participants identify themselves, for example to invite members to log in to get the member price. Select the **Category**, then the **Article**. ### Choose the elements of the detail page In the **Elements on detail view** section, check the information to display. It comes from the configuration of each event, in the Events feature. - **Show thumbnail of the event**: the image associated with the event. - **Show the address of the event**: the name and address of the venue. **Show full address of the event** adds the province or region and the country. - **Show contact information for the event**, **Show short description of the event**, **Show the speakers of the event** (for example the speakers of a conference) and **Show event time**. - **Show the number of places available**: the number of remaining places, calculated in real time based on registrations, if a number of places is set for the event. - **Show category name** and **Show keywords** of the event. - **Show add to calendar button**: lets visitors add the event to their calendar. - **Show participants list on event detail page**: see the next section. ### Display the list of participants You can publish the list of registered people below the details of your events, for all visitors or only for your members. Check **Show participants list on event detail page**, then set the following options: - **List title**: text displayed above the list. - **Displayed for filtered events only**: limits the list to events in certain categories (**Filter events by categories**) or with certain keywords (**Filter events by keywords**). - **Displayed for members only**: only logged-in members see the list. - **Filter : display members only**: the list only shows participants who are members. - **Display page numbers** and **Number of results per page**: split the list into several pages. Without page numbers, only the latest registrants, up to this number, are displayed. The most recent registrations are displayed first. - **Displayed columns**: information shown for each participant, for example first and last name. You can choose fields from the member file, event registration fields and the name of the selected price. - **Member detail page**: if you have a [member directory](https://support.yapla.com/en-ca/member-directory?hsLang=en-ca), select its page so that members' names link to their profile. On the website, visitors can sort the list by clicking a column header. These settings apply to all events displayed by the module. Only display information your participants expect to see published, such as their name or organization. ### Filter the events displayed In the **Filter functions** section: - **Filter events for a category** and keywords: limit the module to events in certain categories or with certain keywords. Useful to create one page per type of event, for example a Training page and a Social activities page. - **Groups**: only displays the events associated with the selected groups. The group is associated with the event in its categorization section. See [Create custom groups](https://support.yapla.com/en-ca/create-custom-groups?hsLang=en-ca). - **Past**, **In progress** and **Coming soon**: choose the events displayed according to their dates. - **Disregard dates of extension of events**: the extension date keeps an event displayed after its end date. Check this option to remove the event as soon as it ends. - **Enable tag filter**, **Enable category filter** and **Enable dates filtering**: add filters above the list so visitors can find an event. - **Display order**: **Chronological** or **Antichronological**. An event excluded by the filters cannot be accessed from this page, even through its direct address.
