# Embed a YouTube or Vimeo video on your website

## Copy the embed code of a YouTube, Vimeo or Dailymotion video, then paste it into a page, an article or an event description.

A video hosted on a platform such as YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion or Facebook displays directly on your website through its embed code. The player appears in the page, while the video stays hosted on the original platform.

### Copy the embed code

The embed code starts with `<iframe`. Each platform provides it in its sharing options:

- **YouTube:** under the video, click **Share**, then **Embed**, and copy the code with **Copy**.
- **Vimeo:** click the video's share icon, then copy the code in the **Embed** section. The embed options also let you change the player size.
- **Dailymotion:** under the video, click **Share**, then copy the embed code.

To start the video at a specific moment, check the start option (**Start at**) in YouTube's embed window before copying the code.

### Add the video to a page or an article

1. Open the page of your website and add a [Custom content](https://support.yapla.com/en-ca/custom-content?hsLang=en-ca) module to the desired zone, or open an existing module. In an article, use the **Article** field.
2. In the editor toolbar, click **Source**.
3. Place the cursor where you want the video in the code, then paste the embed code.
4. Click **Source** again to return to the normal view, then save.

The `width` and `height` values of the embed code set the player size. Change them directly in the code to enlarge or shrink it.

### Add the video to an event or a campaign

The same code works in any area that has the text editor, for example the description of an event or a donation campaign. In an event, click **Edit an event**, then open the **Basic description** or **Advanced description** section. Click **Source** in the editor of the desired field, paste the code, then save.
