# Create a media library

## Store your downloadable documents in one place and share them easily on your website.

**Available with the Premium plan and higher.**

The media library stores your **downloadable** files in one place. You can then add them, for example, as clickable links on your website.

Accepted file types are: png, jpg, gif, zip, rar, txt, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, pdf. The maximum size is 2 MB for an image and 5 MB for a file.

### Activate the Medias service

Go to **Settings \> Services**, then check that the **Medias** service is enabled (orange toggle in the **Status** column).

### Configure and organize your media

On the **Medias** row of the services list, click **Configure** (orange button). This page is also available at any time under **Settings \> Medias \> Configuration**.

This interface lets you organize your media with categories (**Categories** tab) or keywords (**Keywords** tab):

- A document can have only one category.
- A document can have several keywords.

To create a category, click **Add a category**.

### Add media

Go to **Settings \> Medias \> Document list**, then click **Add a media** (bottom right).

Then fill in the following fields:

- **Name:** name of the document (public information).
- **Description:** description for internal use only.
- **Associated groups:** if needed, associate the media with one or more groups.
- **File:** field used to upload your document.

Compress your file before uploading it. The following free tool works very well for PDF files: [https://www.ilovepdf.com/compress\_pdf](https://www.ilovepdf.com/compress_pdf)

If you have created categories or keywords, two additional fields appear so you can assign them to your document.

Click **Save**.

### Search your media

Once your media are added, find them with the search engine at the top of the media list. The following criteria are available:

- Name
- File type (extension)
- Associated groups
- Category and keywords (if you have created any)
- Status: active or inactive

Then click **Search**.

### View a media and its use

In the media list, click the gear icon of a media, then **Edit** to open its record. In addition to the fields filled in when adding it, the record shows the following information:

- **Preview:** lets you view or download the document (**Download** link).
- **Download Link:** link to use to share the document.
- **Number of downloads:** shows how many times the document has been downloaded.
- **File name:** name of the uploaded file.
- **File type:** file extension.
- **Creation information:** number and name of the member associated with the addition, and the creation date.

The **Active** toggle, under the name of the media, shows its status. This status also appears in the **Activated** column of the media list.

### Share a media on your website

Copy the **download link** of the media and add it wherever you want to make it available, for example in an article or a page of your website.
