Turn on the account languages
The languages offered on your website depend on those turned on in your account. Go to Settings > Languages and turn on the languages you want. They are used for navigating the platform, for the website and for creating content.
Choose the website languages
- In Website, open your website, then click the Languages tile.
- Check the languages your website displays in.
- Choose the Default language of the website.
- Click Save.
Show the language selector
In the Header module of your master page, check Display Language in the Languages section. A language switch link then appears in the header of every page. The site language selector module also lets you place this choice in another zone of the page.
Write the content of each language
The language selector at the bottom of each setup screen (for example English (Canada)) shows the language version you are editing. Choose another language in this selector to enter the content of that language: page names, articles, module settings, header logo, etc.
- Different content: each language can show different articles in the same module.
- Missing content: an untranslated item displays in the default language.
- Page in a single language: a page can also exist in only one language. See the article Display a page in only one language.
The labels and content of the other features (forms, events, communications) are translated under Settings > Translation. See the article Manage your account translations.
