# Automatic contact sync to Yapla Newsletters

## Your Yapla members, donors and participants are automatically added to your newsletter lists. This article explains what information is transferred and how it's kept up to date.

Yapla saves you time by automatically syncing your contacts with your newsletters. This way, you don't need to update your newsletter recipient list.

*Although the **Contacts** feature is available on the **Essential plan**, Yapla Newsletters users on the **free plan will still have their Yapla contacts synced to Yapla Newsletters**. However, access to the Yapla Contacts feature and group management is not available.*

### How does the sync work?

So that your recipients are always up to date, your Yapla contacts are synced automatically.

### Synced information and mailing lists

When a contact is added to your list, all the information in the native fields of the Contacts application is automatically included in the sync. You can find the list of these fields under **Contacts \> Settings \> Forms \> Fields**, in the **List of native fields** and **List of custom fields** sections.

If a contact is updated in a Yapla feature (for example, if their first name is changed in their member profile card), the information is also updated in their recipient profile during the sync.

#### Good to know

When your contacts are synced, one or more lists are automatically created in your Yapla Newsletters account. Under **Audience \> Lists**, you will find lists associated with the languages active in your Yapla account.

So if you have more than one list (for example FR and EN), each contact is associated with a list based on the preferred language in their profile. Otherwise, only one list (language) is created.

We do not recommend creating additional lists to organize your contacts. Instead, create [tags](https://support.yapla.com/en-ca/create-and-use-tags-in-your-newsletters?hsLang=en-ca) and [segments](https://support.yapla.com/en-ca/creating-segments-for-your-newsletters?hsLang=en-ca). This way, you avoid duplicate contacts and can take full advantage of the maximum number of contacts available in your plan.

**If you notice that the automatic sync between your contact database and Yapla Newsletters is no longer working** or that data is missing, go to **Configuration \> Features \> External software** and click **Repair** in the Yapla Newsletters row.
