Allow members and non-members to log in to your website
Add a login form to your website and display the Login link in the header.
Available with the Essentials plan and higher.
To let your members, donors or other contacts log in to your website, add a login form to a page. Once logged in, a person can access their personal area and the pages reserved for logged-in users.

Choose the right login module
Three modules display a login form:
- Login (Website feature): a simple login form. After logging in, the person is sent to the page of your choice. For example, use this module to give access to pages reserved for conference participants.
- Member Area (Members feature): in addition to logging in, people can become members, renew their membership and manage their profile, transactions, receipts and registrations. See Add the Member Area module to your website.
- User Area (Website feature): the same module as the Member Area, available in the list of website modules.
For most organizations, a single login page is enough: the one that contains the Member Area. It lets people both log in and become members.
Configure the Login module
- In the Website feature, open the page that will host the form, or create a new page.
- Click a zone, select the Website feature, then the Login module.
- In the Module Configuration section, set the following options:
- Redirect page: the page displayed as soon as the person is logged in.
- Allow connection to non-member contacts: by default, only members can log in. Check this box to also let contacts who are not members log in, such as participants in your events.
- Use Single Sign-On authentication (SSO): lets people log in with the credentials of an external system. See Single Sign-On (SSO) with Yapla.
- Enable login link sending option: adds the Receive a login link button to the form. The person receives an email with a link that logs them in without a password. See The login link: an alternative to passwords.
- reCAPTCHA activation (Anti-spam protection section): protects the form against bots. This option requires valid reCAPTCHA credentials in the website's external tools.
- Click Save and close.
The settings of the zone itself (title, visibility by login status or group) are described in Settings common to all modules.
Show the Login link in the website header
Instead of adding the login page to the menu, you can display a Login link at the top of every page, in the website header.
- Open the page that contains your login module (Login or Member Area). In the page's Configuration tab, check Don't display this page in your web site menu, then save.
- Open your website's master page, then the zone that contains the Header module.
- Check Display Login, then select your login page in the Page Login list.
- Choose the links to display next to the Login link:
- Show Renew My Membership link
- Show Become a Member, with the Go directly to the list of membership types option
- Show login username: displays the person's name once they are logged in.
- Click Save and close.
The other header sections (logo, social networks, languages, cart) are described in Header.
What people see when they log in
The form asks for the person's email address and password, and the Log in button logs them in. The form also offers:
- Forgot password: sends an email to create a new password. People also use this link to create their password the first time they log in. See Manage member passwords.
- Receive a login link: if the option is enabled, sends a single-use login link by email.
The person must use the email address recorded in their file. A person whose file is archived cannot log in.
To reserve pages or zones for logged-in users, see Restrict access to a page or section of your website.
